Kathayalla Ithu Jeevitham is backed by the Kerala State Legal Services Authority (KELSA), which is constituted to give Legal Services to the people besides conducting Lok Adalats and to give effect to the policies and direction of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
In this tele-replica of a LOK Adalat, the judicial ground is covered by legal representatives provided by KELSA. As is customary in a Lok Adalat, each case is presided over by a judge, who may be a sitting or a retired judicial officer, a lawyer and a social worker or a psychologist.

The decision taken by the judiciary in the show is binding on the parties to the dispute and its order is capable of execution through legal process. There is no further appeal against the verdict declared in the show. The final judgement is pronounced with the consent of both the parties involved and they are given copies of the signed agreement stamped by KELSA.
A violation of the agreement can however be appealed for a trial in the court. |
