Case Summary
Relationships in our country are meant to be an everlasting strong bond. Break-ups and divorces used to be rare. This scenario seems to be changing now. Dileep-Jasmine couple's case here sets the worst example for how mutual ego clashes and distrust can ruin a pious bond. For the first time, the judging panel was eager than the rest to place a judgment in favour of a divorce for both the appealing parties.
Dileep and Jasmine, both were working together in the Chadayamangalam KSRTC depot. Both divorcees had met, talked and learnt about each other before coming together as husband and wife. They had both selected each other as their better halves rather than it being an alliance brought by a broker.
For both Dileep and Jasmine, it was their second marriage on the verge of a divorce. The couple came to the court of Kathayalla Ithu Jeevitham to share their stories, their versions of the truth.
Dileep’s Version
Dileep is a hard-worker. He taught his five siblings, married-off his sisters, build the family house… he performed all his duties without a complaint. When his responsibilities were all finally over and he finally decided to settle down, Dileep found that life had almost passed him by. At the age of 35, he got married to a 24 year old who confessed her discontent with the relationship on her first night itself. Reasons mounted-up which split the legal knot between them. Then came the next relationship with Jasmine who was also a divorcee and mother of a six year old.
The problem here started with Jasmine's allegations against Dileep stating him as a disinclined father to her daughter. Dileep stated that the mother-in-law feeds the kid with false and threatening information about Dileep, all the time poking him using the words 'Second Father'. He also states that Jasmine had grown disrespectful of him and had even made attempts to attack him with a hatchet. |

Jasmine’s Version
Jasmine is from a financially well-off family and she is a graduate too. She broke her relationship with her first husband citing before the court that her husband was a homo-sexual and thus their marriage was unsatisfactory. She had happily agreed to the marriage with Dileep. This was four years after her first break-up. Even before a year had passed after her marriage with Dileep , she was on stand for her second divorce. The reason she gave for the same is her husband’s irresponsibility added to his immoral character.
KIJ’s Summing-Up
Kathayalla Ithu Jeevitham was on the ride with a never before case narration that startled the viewers and probably their cultural conscience. What both the parties tried to explain had by-far no actual connection to the case. It was but clear that a problem lied on both sides and that trying to unite them to continue the relationship might on a longer run only bring a bad impact on the growth of Jasmine's daughter. So, the panel has decided for a divorce and has also requested the lawyer who accompanied Jasmine to the TV court-room, to help them discontinue the relationship with a legal divorce.
