Beena Joseph worked as a nurse in a hospital in Chennai where Manoj Kumar ran the canteen. Manoj took to liking Beena and they both fell in love. Due to cast differences, both their families were against to their getting married. Ignoring all oppositions, they registered themselves as husband and wife. This was in 1996. Instead of resuming duties in Chennai, both decided to stay back in their native state. Beena got a job as nurse but Manoj couldn’t manage a proper one. Earnings were meager and running a family became a tough deal, especially for Manoj who by now had just one ambition – make money. After doing several jobs as a manual labourer, he set off to farther places in search of a better job. This wandering began to keep him away from his wife and children. Finally, when he decided to begin a business, Beena came to his financial rescue. He began a family plastics agency at Alappuzha.
Business took off but the relationship began to drain-off from him. There were evident changes in his behaviour that spoke of his drifting apart. Finally the day came when he confessed about having an affair. Beena acted patient and consoling her husband to ignore the mistake, decided to revive their relationship. It was Beena’s foolishness to trust a betrayer. Manoj continued on with the affair and one fair morning disappeared without a word.
It was love that transformed into a legal knot offering a word of security to Beena. Beena, feeling insecure by now, went looking for her life-mate. She now knows who stole the same from her life and that is why she is here in Kathayalla Ithu Jeevitham to get back what is rightfully hers. |
